Shine Bright Without Dimming Others ✨

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a business owner is this: you don’t have to extinguish someone else’s light in order to make yours shine brighter.

In fact, real success comes from lifting others up — even when they are your competitors. Supporting other businesses doesn’t take away from your own; it shows that you believe in what you’re building so strongly that you don’t feel threatened by others doing the same.

Kindness Is Good Business

Being kind is not just about having a good heart — it’s smart business. When you support others, you create a culture of collaboration, trust, and respect. That energy comes back to you tenfold, in ways you might not expect: new opportunities, stronger networks, and genuine community.

Community Over Competition

There is room for everyone at the table. Your light doesn’t dim because someone else is shining; if anything, the room gets brighter. When we encourage, cheer, and celebrate others — even our competitors — we create an industry that thrives on excellence instead of fear.

Lead By Example

As business owners, we set the tone. Our teams, clients, and communities watch how we move. When we choose positivity, integrity, and support, we show that our confidence comes from within. We don’t need to tear anyone else down. Our shine is bright enough — and it will keep getting brighter because we nurture it with authenticity and hard work.

💡 Remember: true leaders lift others. Let your business stand out not because you dimmed someone else’s light, but because yours shines so powerfully, it can’t be ignored.

So I was given promises by a university that id graduate and know all about medical coding and billing….. WRONG! I basically wasted 2yrs of my life. I did get an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology but that was NOT what I was “promised” I could very well sit for the certifications exam for CPC or the other one through AHIMA, I think it is, but I refuse because I know id fail. Not because I don’t believe in myself but because I literally know nothing, I was taught nothing regarding medical coding or billing. They touched on it here and there but not the way I was promised. So I guess my question now is, what do I do now? Obviously I’m going to have to go back to school but I don’t want to go back to school for 2 years and some of these medical billing programs out here are nothing but scams and I just want to make sure that I do it the right way and not waste my time but in the same sense also make sure that I’m being taught correctly. So I just found this group and I figured I would post here and hopefully get some suggestions and some good feedback. Thank you
